How many of you knew it was Dr. Seuss' birthday yesterday?
Confesssion....I didn't either until Ronnie told me on the way to school.
To celebrate, we had a Dr. Suess inspired dinner. I forgot to take pictures of us actually eating said dinner, so you'll just have to imagine!
On the Menu:
Pink Yink Ink Drink
This one, I think, is called a Yink.
He likes to wink, he likes to drink.
He likes to drink, and drink, and drink.
The thing he likes to drink is ink.
The ink he likes to drink is pink.
He likes to wink and drink pink ink.
SO...if you have a lot of ink,
thenk you should get a Yink, I think.
From One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish
Scholttz's Knots
And, while we are at it, consider the Schlottz,
the Crumple-horn, Web-footed, Green-bearded Schlottz,
whose tail is entailed with un-solvable knots.
From Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are?
Hoop-Soup-Snoop Group Potato Soup
So every so often, one puts down his hoop,
Stops hooping and does some quick snooping for soup.
That's why they are known as the Hoop-Soup-Snoop Group.
From Dr. Seuss's Sleep Book
Jedd's Bed of Shrimp
A Jedd is in bed,
And the bed of a Jedd
Is the softest
Of Beds in the world,
It is said.
He makes it from pom poms
He grows on his head.
And he's sleeping right now
On the softest of fluff,
Completely exhausted
From growing the stuff.
From Dr. Seuss's Sleep Book
P.S. Which is gramatically correct?
Dr. Seuss's Birthday
OR
Dr. Seuss' Birthday
Or does it even matter?
