The mark of a dirty boy!

Ronnie could make me rich, I swear. If I had a dollar for every cute comment he made, I would be rich, not to mention his wit, he's a pretty quick thinker. The other day Ronnie had been playing outside, and if you know anything about my yard, you know that means he was playing in the dirt, 'cause there isn't much else to play in. He likes to be really sneaky when he's been playing outside because he knows he's not aloud in the house until mom has inspected him, other wise the floor and furniture would be covered in dirt. I walked in the kitchen, and there on the floor, was the mark of one sneaky dirty boy...the most perfect little dirt footprint I have ever seen. Unfortunately, it didn't photograph very well. So, after taking photos of my evidence, I called him over to the house. "Ronnie, some one has been in the house,do you know who might have been ?" Looking up to the sky and strategically placing his finger to his chin, he ponders for a moment. "A monster?" "No, I don't believe so, I think it was you!" Grinning from ear to ear, "How'd you know?" "Because you left dirty little foot prints all over the floor." Now, looking quite puzzled, "But mom, I didn't think I had hoof prints!" Yes, I wrote hoof. He has always called foot prints "hoof prints". Gotta love kids!

Brown Eyed Boy!

Well, after many months of debating ,we think we have settled. I believe Ryland's eyes have decided they want to be brown, they haven't changed their minds too much lately, so we think brown has finally won. Either way, he's stinkin' adorable! Can you tell I adore my boys? Probably not as obvious with Ronnie, I realized today, my blog might seem to show a little favoratism to Ryland. Not intentional, I assure you, I just seem to take more pictures of Ryland becuase he is still changing so much day to day.

Mother Nature's Firework!

We were outside lighting our 4th of July fireworks and this storm rolled in. You could literally watch as this huge "pillowy" cloud floated towards us because the lightning striking inside it would light it up. It was beautiful, I'm afraid my pictures really don't do it justice. I have always been amazed by nature and the weather. I stand in awe of the power and beauty of lighting. And boy do we get some awesome thunder storms here in Missouri, like I have never seen before.

Catchin' some ZZZZ's.

Okay, so I am totally jealous. Kids can sleep anywhere! This picture speaks for itself. And me, I lay awake at night frustrated because I can't sleep. How would it be to just crash when and where you want. I've got to admit though, it doesn't look very comfortable.

Bad to the Bone!

I love my boys! They are so much fun. They warm my heart. Last Friday was Nelson's birthday(29) and I asked Ronnie what he wanted to get his daddy for his birthday. His first response was a Robot. I explained that I didn't quite think dad would really enjoy a robot. Then, he stated quite ecstatically, that he wanted to get him water guns. "Now that," I said, "is a great idea." So we went to the store and bought the whole arsenal. Nelson loved them. Ronnie was quick to lay claim to all the big ones of course. So, two days later, we are working in the yard and Ronnie is playing with the BIG gun. Ryland was quite enjoying his new "shower". Then Ronnie decided he needed to become a hairstylist, and this was the result. ADORABLE!

And the winner is....

Gimp! No, Just kidding. He hurt his leg last night and now is kinda gimpy. His name however, is going to be Boo. I know, I know, Peanut won the poll, but my darling 5 year old insisted that Boo was a much better name. Sorry ya'll, he trumps! Thanks for voting though!

Whirlwind Life!

Well, Nelson and I just celebrated our 7th Anniversary! I know that's really not that long, but wow, 7 years! What an adventure it has been. I just want to take a moment to tell my husband how much I love him and how much I appreciate him. I know that I complain a lot, and most often, it seems like things will just never work out, but there have been many wonderful times we have shared and we are still sharing more wonderful times, so, to all who listen to my mundane grumblings about my husband, we are still going to make it. I love him to death (I probably nag him to death too!) and we keep on fighting to make this work. IT'S WORTH IT, every single moment of it!

Our Newest Addition!

This is the newest member of our family. He was born on June 7, the day after we left for summer vacation! He is a Toggenburg/Boar mix. Luckily, John, my sister's fiance, was house sitting and he was their to assist. All went smoothly with the delivery, and we think he just adorable!!!! We aren't quite sure what to name him though. Suggestions? So far, we have thought about Boo, because his momma's name is Yogi, and Yogi Bears sidekick's name was Boo Boo. Also, Peanut or Buddy. We just don't know. While I am showing him off, I might as well show you our other goats too. This is baby goat's mamma, Yogi. She is a 1 year old Toggenburg and this was her first kid.
Then we have Wendi, the one horn wonder, and she is our milker. Wendi is a 2 year old American Saanen. We also have right now, 5 chickens, 2 dogs, and 1 cat. We are on the market for a cow next.

A Good Day!

Today was a great day! Just one of those days that make you sit back and enjoy all the little pleasures in life. A great for recognizing ones blessings! My husband has officially been home for one whole week...YEAH! I sure miss him when he is gone. The bad news, he's leaving again tomorrow. But we put sod in today, and that makes me HAPPY! For any of you that know what a chore building our home has been, you understand my joy over a little patch of grass. I officially have landscaping.
Ronnie has dedicate his summer so far to catching toads, frogs, and lizards. He is all boy. He catches atleast 2 toads every day and it takes a fair amount of convincing to get him to let them go every night, he is adament that he keep them as pets. We tried to explain that they need to be free to catch food or they would have to go to heaven, so, like a true child, innocent and sweet, in his toad bucket I found vanilla wafers and sun-dried tomato crackers. Gotta love kids!
He also lost his first tooth! Which, incidently was knocked loose when he was punched in the mouth at school by a little boy that didn't want to sit by him. We were on our way home from school on Friday, when all the sudden in the back seat I hear, "Oh, I pulled my tooth out!" Sure enough, there was a gaping hole where a tooth used to be. Now the only question on our minds...is the tooth fairy a boy or girl?
Ryland, still growing like a weed and getting into all sorts of things...had his first taste of dirt today...and he seemed to quite like it. Of course, seeing that Ryland was getting all sorts of attention, Ronnie decided he needed to eat dirt, and while the look on his face told quite a different story, he was insistant that he really likes dirt.

A little ditty here...a litty ditty there...what ever we feel like sharing.
