Happy Birthday!

Well, my baby is 1! He is growing up WAY TOO FAST...which I find very disturbing. It' s just not fair. Why? I ask, are they in such a hurry to stop being young, carefree, and naive to this crazy world. What I wouldn't give to be 1 again, or 5, or even 8 or 9, but not 12, 16, or any other teen year. Heaven forbid they ever become teenagers! Has anyone found that magic remote that stops your kids from becoming teenagers? I can't handle my 5 year old, how am I ever going to survive the teen years? I guess we start "small" and get "bigger" as we hopefully get better at this whole parenting game. Ugh, I give up know, it's quite daunting to think about.
Anyway, back to the real subject matter, this last year has flown by, faster than any year I have lived through yet. (Is that a sign I am getting old?) We were at the school registering Ronnie for Kindergarten and there was a tiny few week old baby. So ADORABLE, incredibly small, and Ronnie says to me "Oh, mom! Look at that cute little baby! Ryland was never that small!" Oh yes he was! But it is soo hard to remember, it went soo quickly. I looked at him lying in his crib the other day when I put him down for nap, and thought, wow, he really is growing up, he is now longer than half the length of his crib, he's looks like a toddler, not a baby anymore. So, I have come to the conclusion that it is DEFINITELY time for another bundle of joy! (Keep your prayers constant and your fingers crossed, we are going for one the "Product of Nelson and Morgan" way this time.)
As for the actual Birthday Celebrations, we really kept them small. We had a wedding the next day, so we didn't want to overshadow. Wink, Wink! We went to Silver Dollar City, and this time, Ryland actually rode some rides. His favorite... the Jumping/Bouncing Frogs of course! His favorite present... his new Squeaky shoes, idea courtesy of cousin Sienna, but I have to say, I wish I had a video camera 'cause it was hilarious when he had them on. His favorite cake... oh, wait, he didn't like his cake! Go figure? He stuck his hands in it a few times, was certainly not interested in eating it, and then cried because there was "stuff" all over his hands. Oh, well! Brother liked the cake just fine, even post Ryland mutilation.

Putting on our Squeaky Shoes! So exciting!

I know Ryland's face is blurry, 'cause he just wouldn't stop jumping for the pictures, but Casadee's face totally says it all!

Ryland's first Birthday cake, and judging by his reaction...it may be his last!

I just love your little boys! I'm glad he got his squeaky shoes! They are a blast. Sienna discovered a way around the squeak. She walks on her tippy toes. :) Happy Birthday Ryland!
